The Band
Stingray is an enthusiastic rock trio specialized in playing powerfull melodic and progressiv (hard)rock covers.
The band also produced a series of classic groudbreaking songs which were released on their self-produced album Mental Prelude.
Covers from Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Iron Maiden, David Lee Roth, Ozzy Osbourne and others perfectly blend together with their own material.
A compact rock trio, did most certainly not lead to reduction of a full sound.
The crowd is often amazed how "full and large" the band sounds. A formation of three has its musical privileges:
for every musician there is enough space for the individual musical capabilities, without compromises.
When possible, the sound can be clean and transparent, but when necessary Stingray can go raw and loud as hell.
The first Demo consists of eight cover songs. These were recorded live in one take in their own studio, using a 8-track analog recorder.
No overdubs were added (except for a couple of multi-vocal choruses).
The sound is an honest representation of what the audience can expect live from Stingray.
Mental Prelude brings nine own fresh songs.
To make it sound as optimal as possible and to push creative boundaries, the band decided to record additional guitar parts,
multi-vocals and when necessary, surprising sound effects.
A dedicated 32-track digital multitrack recorder was designed and developed exclusively to push technical boundaries for this recording session.
The spectacular live shows, filled with powerful melodic rock anthems and own songs, have become synonymous with their name.
The songs most certainly hold their own in a live-situation, and that's something every visitor will be convinced of.
In the past decade their concerts have become must-see events, and they continue to sell out arenas worldwide ;-)
